Obviously with me being new to the area I am questioning the danger of snakes while out hunting. Where i come from I never had to worry about it.
Is it something I should be concerned with when hunting in FL? Is there any precautions i should take prior to going out?

Yes,poisonous snakes are out year round. We have rattlers, cottonmouths, coral snakes, and copperhead snakes. Where I hunt cottonmouths are the most common and dangerous imo. Snake boots are your best bet,I started wearing gaiters this season. All you have to do is step on one and they'll get ya.And you will run into them if you hunt here.

That about covers it. Big thing is pay attention what's around you.

i am a rookie hunter, and have not been able to afford snake boots yet but they are on the list of necessities. have run into a few snakes so far, but nothing threatening. usually they just slither away, but i dont want to run into one that is courageous.

Bass Pro has some high top muck boots on sale for $29, they work great and will protect against most attempts to bite you.
