I got a new barrel for my shotgun. It is a modified choke. Can I shoot slugs thru it?If not what choke can I use for shooting slugs?

A slug can be shot from a bbl with mod choke but for best performance the cyl or improved cyl .

there are basicly 2 types of slug barrels, smooth bores and rifled barrels. slugs will probably shoot out of any bbl but for best accuracy use a slug with a sabot for the rifled bbl's, and a slug with the rifling on the slug itself for the smoothbores ( like the remmington sluggers) they are much cheaper and shoot a larger diameter heavier slug app 1oz ( a flying ashtray ). the sabot types like federal with barnes expanders or the hornady sst,s can run over 13$ for 5 rounds, and shoot a smaller lighter bullet 45-50 cal sandwiched in a collar and the rifled bbl gives it the spin. with these you can get 3 inch groops at 100 yds, and the hornady's recomend zeroing in at 150yds. getting back to chokes I've used improved cylinder with my smoothbores, if your bbl does not have removable choke tubes then you realy don't have a choice, try them on paper and see how they do. rifled bbls are much thicker and heavier then smootbores and usualy have rifle type open sights or are scoped, but smoothbores you can alternate using slugs and buckshot, but don't have the range of a rifled bbl ( due to the sights ). it is possible to rig a scope with a smoothbore if you realy want. hope this helps
