A winch on a receiver hitch that you can mount on either end of the vehicle can be real handy.

Main roads are not too bad a 2 wheel drive can go down most. I have a 9000 lb wench and ox locker in the rear end on my jeep wouldn't leave home right now with out them. Mine sits about like the white one in your pic.
Skunk ape where I hunt in north part of the state they do gate off the wet areas in WMA. I like it but the locals dont worry about the gates. They are there just to keep the honest people honest.
It sucks how bad some of the roads get blown out in there by these off road clubs, there's even some military off road vehicles that go out there tearing up the roads and ditches. I hunted a lot off of south grade last season and some of the roads off of that were nasty even when it was dry.
backwoods, sounds like you have a nice set up, ox lockers are great. i may hunt a little in richloam this year. thanks for the report on the roads.
skunkape, i do not belong to any off road clubs or group. the friends i ride with ride all over the state and we all follow the Tread Lightly Program. we have also had trail clean up rides in richloam to pick up as much trash as we can and take it to the landfill in my dump trailer. the roads get abuse and damage from log trucks, skidders and 4x4 that dont have respect for the place.
i hope all this rain pushes the hogs up from the river
