So this year my hunting plans have changed a little. I usually do most of my deer hunting in Mississipi but this year I will be anchored closer to home due to my wife being pregnant. This year I would like to do most of my hunting in the central Florida area especially Richloam.

So my questions is: Does anyone have some good advice for the Richloam WMA for deer, Fall and Spring turkey, hog, and duck? I hunt during muzzleloader and rifle seasons but not during archery.

Any help would be appreciated with regards to location, time of year, etc.

Thanks

Richloam is a dog hunt area with plenty of clutter. There is no muzzleloader season, archery is good especially for hogs. Place is under water right now,and I can't ever recall mosquitos so bad. To hunt during gen gun season I would just go out in the middle of a block and put your time in a tree.

i have done a lil scouting in richloam the past few yrs, it does have animals, and it does get wet. I have however taken my 2 wheeldrive all over the place in there when its dry just got watch for sugar sand and mud. thinking about a few archery hunts there this yr, if it dries up by oct.

with all the rain fall this summer richloam will be wet for a while. i ride with a few other jeeps now and then in richloam and know the area. if the rain keeps up it may be better to hunt with scuba gear and a spear gun. i have hunted the area off and on for several years. it's fun to drive by all the camp sites and see the small city that is constructed during hunting season. check the regs to make sure of the dates for hogs as it has changed over last few seasons. i think it is still ok to run dogs. all the advice i have picked over the years is find a spot and put in the seat time. with miles of roads that criss cross it is difficult to have a private hunt. and it does not hurt to have a vehickle that can ford a few feet of water
