After a unproductive morning we decided to try walking some dogs out to a island in the mill pond. A buddy of ours told us about a nice buck he had seen go up on one of the islands. Six guys went with me. After we finally got the island surrounded I took 3 dogs up on the island. It was about 1 acre with about knee to waist deep water for 200 yards. The dogs jumped immediately and bullets went flying. Deer went everywhere, I think 5 bucks and 4 does where bedded on the island. Of course the dogs got on the 4 does I seen come out on my side. With the dogs swimming it wasn't hard to catch. I was taking them to a buck my uncle was shooting at. When I heard Little John screaming for the dogs. Now I had to figure which one I was going to put the dogs on. Gator told me the buck he was shooting at was a nice 8pt, and John was telling me he has never seen one like this a GIANT!! Well that was easy, we cut them loose. Now there was over 20 shots and no one cut a hair!! Anyway the dogs where burning it up, and it was a long way to the trucks. By the time we got back my Uncle Carey had shot him crossing G-MAS RD. We could hear him yelling a mile away. Here's a pic of me and my gang. 21PT, 14 SCORABLE
Drag? With that many guys, they coulda carried it out overhead to keep the hide from gettin dirty.
Surprised there was hide left with that much shooting going on.
WE DO MORE SHOOTING THAN HITTING, WELL I THINK EVERONE SAID THEY KNOCKED HIM DOWN, UNTIL FUTHER INSPECTION. ONE 30-30 HOLE.... LOL
