I still Hunted Richloam since I was 15. Im 38 now. Over the years the Dog runners have just gotten worse. There needs to be more FWC regulatin in that WMA. It should be and i think it is Illegal to drive down a road with a minor in the back with a loaded frirearm. These guys are a bunch of Idiots.
What can I do to start the process of hopefuly one day making Richloam a total still hunt WMA ? or at least make half of it still hunt. Its rediculous that the only place to hunt lacally is Green Swamp. Wich is where Im going for now on.
there are more still hunting opportunities on public land in this state than dog hunting. i have coonhunted richloam, but i hunt in the ocala forest where they have a dog unit and still hunt only units. i hunt strictly the dog hunt area and there are plenty of people still hunting in there. if you still hunt you have the opportunity to hunt all public land, if you dog hunt you are restricted to certain wma's. so i guess what i am saying is go somewhere else that is still hunt only and stop bashing and trashing. there are issues with all types of hunting and fishing. you dont think bowhunting is under attack? the vast majority of doghunters are houndsmen who get more enjoyment in hearing their hounds hunting one up then they do shooting a deer. as a doghunter i can attest to that. i also see more doghunters are just deer hunters, who enjoy the race and putting meat on the dog box to take to the house, whereas the still hunters i talk to are obsessed with who can get on the biggest rack and brag about. the majority of them all they can talk about over a meal is when big boy is coming in to the hot scrape cause they got 20 pics of him with the time showing. deer hunting has different strokes for different folks and it concerns me when a fellow hunter wants to start the process of taking away another hunter's legal method of enjoying the same sport just because they dont agree with it or partake in it. there are slobs in every facet of our hunting world, therefore we all get scrutinized and always will. its the same old line--we must stand together or everyone loses out in the end. if it sounds like i am bashing and trashing i apologize up front. i am only trying to state my 2 cents worth. good hunting ya'll. mark.

Ok before this gets out of hand... Heres the deal. Richlom is a DOG HUNTING WMA. Before you go there remember this. If you cant handle the dog hunting, then dont hunt there. Yes there are buttheads in every walk of life. If you compare the amount of still hunting to the amount of dog hunting areas the still hunting is 95 percent and the dog hunting is 5 percent. Dog hunting areas are hard to find for dog hunters to use.
With that said.. Remember Dog Hunting is just as much a form of hunting as hunting with a weapon. Please respect everyone for they way they hunt.
Just cause a person dog hunting had a minor in the back of his truck with a weapon and being very dangerous it dont mean that all dog hunters do that.

That flying thing sounds like fun but I kinda live far away and there are a few hunting items I probably need to buy. I.E. insulated coveralls so I stop freezing my :censored off.

It is fun. Especially when I'm flying at 1500 feet above the ground and i can see 8 Hogs together and about 200 yards away see a walking Hunter that does'nt seem like he has any idea their there cause he's walking the other way.
Rain turned me from going to camp this weekend so I decided to run in Richloam today. Man talk about traffic,now I remember why I drive 120 miles away to hunt. Place was crawling with crews,definitly much quiter during the week.
