yeah, maybe. but, i don't get around alot of n. florida. crystal river is about as far north as I go. unless going up i-75. to ga. have only walked around homassasa WMA once. Turkey hunt out at three lakes. just haven't run into them yet.
I had a big bear working one of my bump feeders about 8 years ago,I didn't realize what is was till it walked right up to it one morning. Thing stood straight up and looked at me and took off running like a scared rabbit. That's the only one I've ever seen, but have seen lots of tracks from Aucilla to Jacksonville, all over San Pedro Bay,now in my club in Mayo and seen a dead cub once in Weeki Wachee. They are thick.
They are all over the place.
I told them new guys in my lease to not leave any feed at camp. Well what do they do? Store 12 bags of corn in the shed (which is an x-large shipping crate).
We got there last weekend and a bear was laying down in the road at camp. He had ripped the side off the shed and drug every bag out, eaten most of it, and drug some of the bags of thru the woods.
There was about 50 piles of bear :crap: right around our campers
I always worry about one wandering into camp while we are out hunting and getting in our coolers. Specially if we have meat in a cooler.
If a bear gets in my beer cooler its gonna be :2guns: :gangster: :2guns: :gangster:
Bears eat corn till they puke, then keep on eating more of it. You always see piles of bear crap and puke near feeders.
