Went out yesterday morn'n in that wind, the only thing that came bye was Mrs.Cowyote.She was bout 125 yard's out, introduced her to Mr.270.This was the first time i acually had time to put a good shot on one.Coy dog's yep, though i have'nt seen any in bout 2 season's,but i was see'n them run with the yote's.Two season's ago durin bow i seen them chase'n a full grown deer.Their were bout 5 or 6 of'em strung out behind deer, deer went through opening bout 45 yard's out in front of me so fast i could'nt even tell what sex it was.I was sit'n there think'n what got this thing spook'd,i knew it was'nt me,then second's behind deer here they go.A mix of coy dog's and cowyote's.One day i was sit'n in stand with crossbow watch'n a coon, all of a sudden coon went up tree, wonder'n why. Here it came,a big orangeish coy dog,he was'nt bout 20 yard's from me but i could'nt get a clean shot.He went up to tree that coon went up,messed around it a lil then went bout 30 yard's off and layed down.Waited for coon to come back down then rush'd back in,coon made it back up tree. But i thought this dog must be real hungry to mess with a full grown coon, they can be pretty nasty to... :taz

In VT, Coy Dogs have been known to actively attack people- even hunters.

I can figure out what a coy dog is but are they that numerous? Look like a dog or a yote?? I know the yotes are raising H... in the woods and have seen a few but never a shot.

In some areas of VT, they are more numerous than coyotes. They tend to be larger (German Shepherd size), at least up there. I'm not familiar with FL's breed, tho. I just know that I'll shoot if I get the chance!

If Im not mistaken, a coy-dog is the offspring of a male coyote and a female dog
