While I will admit to having been wrong once or twice before, those look like persimmons to me.
Granted I am viewing it on a phone but they definitely don't look like crab apple leaves...

Persimmons also don't have that pronounced nipple/bloom thing on the bottom of the fruit.

I took the pictures and posted on another site a few days ago. 2 guys responded immediately that both have degrees in forestry that they are southern crabapples. One of the guys has over 50 years field work under his belt. Now whether they are both wrong? I have no idea...

But I will say for sure they are NOT persimmons. I have hunted over persimmons my entire life. The leaves are not even close to the same shape, size, or color. And while the fruit is similar in appearance, they are 1/3 the size of a persimmon. These things are about 3x the size of a pencil eraser. All I know the deer are flat tearing them up

Not sure what they are,but there good to eat.Have 3 of the on the job site loaded with fruit.I was told they were japenese something or other.

Yet again something different. Those you are referring to are Japanese plums. An old buddy of mine had one in his front yard. Eat enough of them and you can :crap: thru a key hole
