Where do you live? I'm currently the caretaker of a pretty good boat. I know that whole place fairly well and if you feel like buying the gas, we might could work up a trip sometime.
I live in Tampa.. I got no problem buying gas and lunch..
From what I understand, there is a high water mark around the lake you can legally hunt. However it gets hit pretty hard (it's the only legal public place to hunt in Fla year round) and the hogs are all out of that area on the islands and what not where the average joe blow can't get to w/o a blow boat
It can be done, we have gone a few times over the years. The best run was in early May before the heavy traffic started. Once the air boaters get going for the summer the hogs are much more weary. A lot of night time dog/hog hunting happens and they shut down real tight.
i would be happy to chip in on some gas as well!!! i have been wanting to get out there, but without a boat it is impossible. have thought about trying some of the shoreline areas next to boat ramps, but need to get out there and see if it is possible.
