What the Farmer (He has a Dairy Farm) told us was the Deer Give the Cows a Disease, I do not know what disease, I also was surprised that he likes the coyotes so much but he seems to think it is an efficient way to help keep the deer heard under control. He sees the deer as a nuisance and the coyotes as part of a solution. I am not going to argue with him about them killing a calf every once in a wile. I do know they keep their calf's in a pen for what reason I dont know. Yes it is a sweet deal but his farm is next to a state park that we hunt, It is public land and we seldom see more than a couple people at a time in there hunting. and most of them are squirrel hunters. I am not an expert on Ohio hunting but from what I have seen it is completly different from here, Much more land than people, Where here it is much more people than land. And Georgia is well on its way to the same. 22 Years ago we spent $50 a year on a lease for about 10 people now its $1000 for 25 people, And I have noticed the Deer in Ohio are much more relaxed where I swear even the Does walk around looking up into trees for people hanging off limbs. Dont get me wrong not every body is so friendly about letting you hunt on their land especially knowing they can get money for it.the Farm next door wont let anybody on their farm.

thanx for the explanation. makes sense now. I am just a dumb old city boy and did not think of deer as the pest.

Sounds like Mo but they want you to kill the yotes too.Deer up there get CWD "chronic wasting disease" I don't think that is the same as mad cow disease but I do know it wipes out deer herds and it spreads from pen raised deer. A lot of the anti-hunter types don't understand that to many deer is not healthy for them or us. Missouri has unlimited doe tags now and I will be partaking of them in two weeks. I would love to hunt Ohio, never been there.
