time for the 22 semi auto. had the same problem with my feeder until I moved it to a more open spot where hawks would get them in the day and owls at night. it'l likely draw in predators also, a field day for yotes,bobcats,foxes and snakes.

I think you're right. You're gonna have to wrap it in sheet metal to keep them out.
