why thankee that theres the nicest thing anyone ever said bout me.
I put my feeder up in april I guess and the only thing I'm feeding for sure is coons amd squirrels maybe turkey, ground not torn up, but I go there about every 2-3wks to thin out squirels and coons, maybe I should leave em alone a litlle longer, but i like the practice of making head shots at 50 yds.
I invested in some chicken wire and made a cage around the feeder portion of my tripod feeder. Had to make a few adjustments after the first week, cus the little tree rats found a way in, and got a free haircut in the process. But, they haven't been able to get in since. Leaves more for the deer, hogs, and turkeys.
I will say that putting out some other attractants around the feeder helps to draw them in to it too. And once they find it, they keep coming back. I'll warn you though, if you set it to go off for too long or too many times a day, you'll have lots of critters around it, but you'll spend a fortune filling it every week. I have mine set for 2x a day for 5 seconds, and there seems to be enough to keep em there along with the mineral block.
I've got it on for 1 sec at 6:45 am only, but the squirrels throwit down for their friiends, and I keep a buchet of stinkcorn to put out right when I get there.
twice a day for 3 or 4 seconds my brother told me to put apples out what do you think ?
