Your buddy is wrong. While I think there are some calibers that should not be used, it says no rimfire or fmj ammo.

If he thinks there is a caliber restriction...tell him to show you the regulation on it. Proof is in the puddin

I think there's a caliber restriction on muzzleloaders so if you've got a steak dinner riding on this I'd check that first...

About twenty years ago I remember reading in the fwc hand book , that for taking deer the centerfire had to be a min of 22cal but they changed that. now its just centerfire.
