Yeah, if it was a cull it would have a .22 bullet hole in its skull. Does look like a dog though. Maybe from previous hogdog seasons or a dropped off stray.
Some of the woods I've hunted in,it was nothing to find bone piles of dogs including the bullet holes. Some dogs are hit by trucks,a lot are dumped off and left to starve to death because the owners are to sorry to take care of them and some old hounds just go out and go to sleep. A running walker is a type of deer hound and ones that don't perform well,don't fare well. Good luck in your archeological endeavors.
I saw a black n tan at our lease this weekend that still had a tracking collar on and you could count every rib for over a hundred yards away
This is my coyote skull...its so yellow because after cleaning and bleaching it I sprayed to much clear coat gloss on it lol..but your skull is defintely canine and I guess you already found out what it is.
