I hope those all came from my club..........LOL.
wonder if we'll ever be able to hunt them again or just continue to let them get out of control??
it will take a few people getting mauled and or killed, just like the gators
and thats what sucks.. a life has to be lost to get the point across.. If i walk up on this bear with 4 cubs hopefully i can get out.. if not. i got a .44 mag.
I seriously hope yall see the big picture. Opening a bear season because they are camping out under deer feeders, or they are showing up on game cams are the wrong reasons. They are wild animals looking for a meal, just like every other critter out there. If the FWC uses that as a basis to open a season, then they are a bunch of idiots. Bears are a unique and important part of the ecosystem. I'll bet there are not more than 2 areas of the state that can sustain a bear harvest(Ocala and the panhandle)
Just from hunting around them for 6 years, I grew to respect them and understand them. Any aggression they showed was 100% of the time due to food.
I feel privileged I got to see a bunch of them in the wild. Truly one of natures finest works of art
Just my opinion
I think that was Crock just blowing some steam, not his argument to have a bear season. I agree a county by county tag system would probably be the best option to get a bear season started. I would also add the area slightly north of Orlando (around Wekiva Springs area up to Deland and possibly further) in the zones that could sustain a small bear harvest. I grew up in these areas and they are loaded with big blacks. Although I would like to see a season I'm not holding my breath. I don't see it in the next 6+++ years.
