What do you have planted in your spot DaveT?

I usually put in a combo of winter wheat, oat, rye, winter pea, and then I usually add collards and purple top turnips...this year Im also adding sugar beets (blame the crush cam). I fertilize the whole mess with 10-10-10 that I put down the same day that I thro my seed. Lime every other year or so....

Here's a pic from that same plot a couple of years back.... from the other shooting house on the far end.....I was deer hunting, turkey season not open, and watched 35 turkeys feed in this plot for about 1/2 hour.....unbelievable...never happens in March...and saw zero deer that morning..

Picture from my ground blind. Between the hogs and sand this spot doesn't seem to want to grow anything.

Do you ever add Lime? I had a guy tell me years ago that if your gonna spend money on anything....put lime...cuz you can put all the fertilizer in the world but if the PH is off....the plants cant use it...Finally convinced one of my hunting buddies of this last year and he added lime to his place where he couldnt get anything to grow anymore and the plot came up pretty nice again....He went out and bought lime again this year....just something to check....might need to get the soil checked....Good Luck with it.
