Nice .22. My dad had one just like it. First gun I ever shot. Hoped to get it as a Christmas present, but somebody broke into my folks' place about 8 years back and stole it along with a Model 12 12ga, Winny 20ga pump, a heavy-bbl 7mm mag, and his .243 semi. Only ever got the .243 back, but it was beat to snot and back.
The way that .22 shot was great. And the thru stock loading was more convenient than tube load.
kept the 20" bbl on the persuader I see, good move. I'll try and see if theres enough meat there to tap threads in it for choke tubes. did the top of the receiver have pre drilled holes for a mounting rail? the lower/closer you can keep that sight to the bbl the better. good to see a nylon 66 again they are indestructible and just so unique and nostalgic.
I sure did. When I was at the gun smith yesterday tapping that was the one thing I forgot to ask. He is going to put the rail and the red dot on for me and sight it, so I will ask him then. The receiver is pretapped so I hop thats going to be low enough. I would think so.
threading a bbl has to be just right or the pattern could go off in any direction. I will give you the name of a guy that comes highly recomennded, has done many and costs app 35$ If able to do your gun. he is a moderator for shotgun world and gives discounts to S.W. members and does the work himself and has worked exclusively for dixie slugs.com for years: go to shotgun world, sign in and become a member,go to the gunsmithing section Mike Orlen is the moderator and who will do the work, tell him the mdl and bbl type and ask him if he can do it for you if youre interested.
That would be great if I could use chokes on the 20 inch! I will contact that person this week. I just got my vented 20 inch barrel in today. It fits the 8 shot Persuader perfect. Appreciate the heads up on that person. I would rather use someone recommended. I am familiar with that sight too.
I will sum the class up for you:
Don't point your gun at anything you don't want to shoot.
Don't shoot anybody.
Unload your gun when in a vehicle or crossing a fence.
Wear hunter orange.
And dont forget "THE SAFETY IS A DEVICE THAT CAN AND WILL FAIL!" haha they made us repeat that about every 15 mins lol
