Corn is not a main food source for deer, even in agricltural areas where it is grown it's not there main food source. I don't believe corn will necessarily keep deer on a property. A deer has a natural born range, usually a square mile or so.I have better luck finding natural deer trails where they travel back and forth to feed and spreading some corn around to slow them down a bit. Also corn really don't add much to a deer's diet as far as nutrition.

State says I gotta run them year round, but I cut it to once a day (evening) and cut down the amount of time it spins so as to put out the least amount of corn. I'll bump it up come August. Definitely a lot of corn goes to sprout this time of year.

I've noticed a lot less game on the feeders during the summer. Seems like they come to check it out real quick and move on. There's just too much other browse for them. I noticed last year that they tore up the black berries when they came in. This last season, the bears were hitting the feeders so bad during the summer that I shut them down and hunted travel routes and my food plot all season. This year it will be soybeans only.

I started my liquid diet on wed for my lap band on 6/8 and will be on liq's then soft foods to 8/8 and won't be able to lift anything over 15 pounds for a couple of months, so I guess my huntings over for a while, could'nt drag it or eat it anyway, will be lucky if I can pull my bow back by sept. so I'm thinkin I'm gonna slow my feeder way down to 1 sec once a day. after the surg it's gonna be a while before I can even add more corn so I'll top it of before 6/8 and see how long it lasts.

Good luck, Nacho. You also have the option of fillin the feeder from a step ladder using a coffee can from the bag.
