Appreciate it guys. I was talking to a friend at work that hunts around Avon Park and he was saying the same thing, you just have to get out there and do it.
I'm still building up my gear right now and I have a friend who has a lease that was at least previously willing to take me so I think that would be a good start. I have cousins up in Starke and Lake Butler that I may hit up for turkey season when I manage to get my shotgun, hopefully that will all pan out next year.
At least this fall and winter if I'm out hiking or camping I can start practicing looking at my surroundings in a different way, maybe get a little scouting practice in.
Oh..your gonna see all kinds of stuff out there scoutin it will really get you in the mood..will be a different story with gun in hand so be prepared.LOL
Heck no! Its never too late to start. If you have the interest, time and ability brother, then get to the woods! You would be amazed at how much of it comes natural. All the other stuff you'll learn by doing it. Good luck and stay safe!
There is nothing more beautiful than a sunrise on a frosty morning from 20' up. Or the sun making it's final dip over the trees in the afternoon. If you haven't started being an outdoorsman yet....get after it. Life is short
I shot my first deer at 43. Just started hunting a few years ago. Its never too late to start. I have started trying to get my kids out there slowly too.
