OK, the other day I was at a Boy Scout camp, and was running the archery range. The Ranger(keeper of the land) came up to me and said that there were some Coyotes on the land and if I was to see them that I should shoot them. My reply to him was. "are you serious?" and he said he was dead serious.
So I guess what i am asking is how legal is this? I saw them the next morning but they were out of range, and well I didnt have my bow handy. And doubt if I would have taken the shot anyway, erring on the side of caution because I did not know the legality of killing a coyote on private land.
Thanks in advance

NO HUNTING AT ALL on boy scout camps property.. Council will sue you and youll be done with. All you need is one scouts PETA loving mom to see or hear about that..
I know cause ive been in scouting since i was 5 and was a scoutmaster for 4 years, and am a wood-badger.. So i got some knowledge.. lol
never mind, im a retard LOL
I found the law in the hunting regs. It was hidden in plain sight...
Wild hogs, rabbits, raccoons, opossums, skunks, nutrias, beavers and coyotes may be taken year-round.
Of course this applies to private land, WMA's you will need to follow their hunting seasons.

Hey Crock1,
First it was not during a scouting event. We rent/use the camp for other activities like the Archery range, and our private event. I also help him out with work around the camp to help defray our cost of using the camp.
So having said that the Ranger is the guy who runs and maintains the boyscout camp and is responsible for the property so if he is telling me to shoot the animal then I would bet he would be the guy.
I am agreed that if this were a scout event, that of course would be a NO-NO, and sure dont want PETA upset, but private property is Private no??
Thanks again
