Waste of money for sure. I wasted my money on it a few times and can say it doesn't work.
Deer cane?
Deer cane?
Didn't work for me either. Watched them walk right by it all season and never touch it.
I've had luck with the deer cane and the black magic. You can't just dump it out on the ground, or as DONY1 said, they'll just walk right by. What I did is put the stuff out on well used trails at points where the deer would feel secure (near thick wooded areas), and also put it down next to feeding stations. The latter seemed to work the best.
The only thing commercially I am trying now is one of those acorn drop blocks. And if it works, I will make my own. Should be easy to do. I'd rather try these things now while its still the off season
I've been told penned deer love the acorn rage and eat it as well as they do corn according to a buddy who has several deer. I know they love corn and it's cheaper than all the commercial products so I stick with what works.
