I realy worry about snakes and my dogs ( which are more members of the family than work animals ) so I just won't hunt with them down here, too dangerous. they wouldn't stand a chance if bitten by a snake like that. they think catching/killing black racers is fun . I'm afraid they'd try the same thing with a rattler. BTW thats a beutiful lab you got there. if you use him/her for ducks down here watch out for gators and cotton mouths.

I've had several dogs bitten,one on the bottom of the paw last summer.Ain't sure exactly what kind of snake but I think Moccasin.Dogs are all fine but dogs definitly get bit more than people.

You're a lucky guy Crock. I got news for you bud, yuor snake boots would not have saved you if he decided to strike high. A snake can strike upwards a little over 1/2 the length of his body. At 6 foot +, he could have struck you in the thigh easily. Glad it all turned out well.

Those aren't even snake boots he has. They are just side zip boots. Not snake rated

they can srike 1/2 their body length? damm I'm gettin me some snake boots and a steel reinforced codpiece.
