FYI for those that have Thermocells. The butane fuel bottles that they sell in health and beauty areas of stores like walmart for Butane hair curlers works the same and is cheaper than buying the thermocell bottles. I use more fuel than pads myself. Just a tip maybe someone did not know.

Problem is you can't hardly find them any longer. Everyone started buying them up, now they are about non existent in Wal Marts. I haven't seen them in at least 2 years in the curling iron section

the refill packs at home depot 4 btl's and 12 pads 19.99$ are available and refilling the propane is very easy and a lot cheaper, 3-4 btl's should keep you in bussiness. the hard part is finding just the pads. anyone who wants to trade refillable bt's (filled) for unused pads just let me know. I've been soaking used pads in diluted agricultural grade permethrin from tractor supply and using those. they seem to work OK but don't know how safe fumes are from either. I agree the thermacell definately helps and have even been thinking of getting a second one for real bad areas.

the hard part is finding just the pads.

I bought 12 pads for $20 on Ebay. But Home Depot website says they carry the large refills 4 fuels and 12 pads for the same price. I've seen the smaller refills in HD, but never noticed the large one.

What I do is I cut the pads in half. They last just as long and do just as good a job as a whole pad. I refill my own fuel bottles so $26 will last me the entire season.
