What is it with some people. I don't understand my bud.
He wants me to save him capes. I said there usually no good when i get one. I generally head shoot them all well 8 out of the last 10. He spouts off and says you not going to shoot that big buck in the head. So i told him i don't have any use for racks any more but knife handles and Chandeliers so yes i will. I really hate body shoots they just make a mess out the meat. I am not going to sacrifice my ribs for a dam cape.

I guess my point is why are so many hooked of big racked deer. Don't get me wrong i love big deer because they make big steaks.

He is rack crazy.

I personally am a hog hunter. and will shoot a deer with a big rack just to put on the wall.. i let all others go.. Trust me.. I was in GA and let a ton walk. I mean deer meat is ok.. But i like pork better!. I am a horn hunter. Ill let my son shoot does or use my doe tag most likely.

Different strokes for different folks... I personally wont shoot anything in FL smaller than a 6 point. When I hunt in other states my standards rise. Let's face it (at least for me) it would be way cheaper and easier to go buy meat at the market then spend the hundreds if not thousands of dollars a year on hunting. Not many people can say they hunt to provide for their family and would go hungry without a harvest. On that note I hunt for the memories and the challenge. To me it's way more satisfying to out smart an old wiley buck or an old slick head so naturally I let the smaller ones walk. I have nothing against people taking legal game but I prefer the challenge of putting horn on the wall. Just my 2 cents on the subject.
