is it the safe/smart thing to do yes, do I always do it, no, but I usually always carry 2 bandanna's 1- orange and 1-camo. I haven't deer hunted down here yet, I'm more interested in hogs and it's not required, but I have been with others in camo in the thick stuff and they disappear in under 20 yd's or less and it would be very easy to have a pass thru slug hit someone on the other side of some palmetto's. since deer are color blind and hogs have poor vision when I do wear orange its usually the blaze type that is a broken up pattern of black and orange, so as long as it's not one solid color you should only be seen by other hunters. ( turkey is a whole other story ) if on the move I think it's wise to use it and if I'm in a stand or blind I generaly camo up and hang the orange ball cap or bandanna on a nearby branch so another hunter will know I'm there.if on public/wma land I use the orange alot more than on private land ,if I'm pretty sure I'm the only one around. also god forbid I got hurt some how it would be alot easier for someone to find me if I had some orange. my 2 cents.
