That motor was straight down under the bucket. It was windy as hell one day.. but i mean the way it was broke it looks like either.. Someone just untied it and let it drop to break then pull it back up.. Or it was smacked. But if it was smacked it would of fell away from the feeder.
The rope was good. Bucket was still up there.. just the motor was on the ground.. screws were still in the bucket holding the plastic pieces that mounted the motor to the bucket.
did you use lock nuts or lock washers and did you attach the feeder motor with screws or bolts?
Wasn't it really windy on 12/12 feeder could have swung and knocked off the motor on one of those trees just a guess but if something climbed that tree you would have got it on film.
bolts.. the bolts were still on the bucket with the plastic pieces attached to it.. the motor literally broke from the plastic stems that hold the feeder to the bucket.
the motor fell right straight down.. weird.
Well now i got a Wildgame feeder.. All metal AND it has a digital timer.. I used to use american hunter feeders. Plastic and they have a round tick timer like a christmas timer that hits a point and triggers the feeder off when the pin hits the trigger. That dam thing would go off allways like 40 mins too early or 40 mins too late.. i put up the new wilgame one and it went off at exactly 5 pm on the dot. WAY BETTER SYSTEM.. and it is set up for square batteries. I cut the ends and put gator clips on an use the spring top battery!!
