How did I know this was gonna happen... I have been officially accused of being cheap now, LOL. I am impressed with that feeder, now off to Wal-Mart I go to buy a $199 Mossberg shotgun, NEVER... Any buddy got a nice centerfire rifle available for $175? If it had a scope that would be nice also..
Seroiusly though. Frank, could you post the specs for that feeder and what you used? I'd like to make one of those. I kinda like the idea of a pipe instead of a 4x4, but if the 4x4 works, I'd do what works for me.....

The deal for me was to have the bottom of the feeder 9' off the ground, the pole steady enough to keep the bear from pushing it down and clad in the aluminum flashing material(I have not had to grease it) Note the winch handle is over the 9' up also to keep them off it too. I have a 6' ladder at the lease and use it to lower the feeder into a 5 gallon bucket, to protect the feeder, for refilling. The battery has lasted 3 mos so far and also the feed 135lbs. I have it set for 3 seconds 2 times a day just after sunrise and before sunset.
Hopefully along with the pic you can figure it all out.
Crock or Mod please make a new sticky topic for bear proof feeder if you so wish.
