I saw a 12- 15'er couple weeks ago crossing a trail at Southern Glades WMA. By the time I got there it was gone. Started to go into the thick stuff w/ flip flops and shorts but the g/f talked some sense into me. I'll be at Big Cypress next Sat. and if I see one it's a dead :indian:
I live north of Tampa and have never hunted down south. Are the snakes really that bad? I once seen a 3' Iguana in Tampa. Still somebody will make some money off them.
I dont hunt down there but i read lots of news stories down there about all the snakes. They always have pictures of them and they are huge
I've talked to a few people that hunt down there and they have never seen the first one. Are there some there? Yes. Are they from people setting them free? NO. When Andrew hit Miami they were all about the monkey habitat that got damaged and we were going to have monkeys all over the place. Well that was fixed do to the snake habitat was hit to. And do you know what the snakes ate first? There was a group that went down and took DNA from like 50+ snakes and found out that they were all related. The big joke is that they say that they will soon be all over the US. They are tropical. They will never make it through a winter north of the glades, just like peacock bass. OK, I will shut-up now.
yeah, that one was over 400 pounds. huge.
