I had a pecan pie made with bear fat. It was good. The steaks were great also.

I can't say I'd ever had Pecan Pie with Bear lard, but I sure would give it a try. That sounds delicious.

I've had bear steak BBQ'ed up in a vinegar based BBQ sauce, and I thought it was REALLY good. If I ever get a hold of some more I'm going to try smoking it.

I am in a minority when it comes to bear meat. I will give most anything a try. Had it a few times and I just didn't care for it. Too greasy for me. That's about the only animal I would like to hunt that I won't hunt for the meat. You could add antelope to the list also. Don't like it either

I took some advice from an old friend: soak your bear meat in a brine for a couple days refrigerated. What a difference. 1 cup brown sugar/1 cup sea salt/ 1 gallon hot water and mix until sugar is dissolved.

I don't know where you're at, but next time I cook some your welcome to a bite!

Seems like I been seeing more of this lately. Population must really be growing.
