Hey guys I am trying to mount a boat seat mount in a small fiberglass boat bench seat. I was thinking of using exploding rivets, but I might have to cut a access hole so I can use stainless bolts. I just wanted to see what you all thought. Thanks here is a pics of what I have.

My brother made the mounts for me since I didn't like the clamp on mounts.

Are the seats in that boat foam filled or hollow? More than likely there is some wood framing that seat. You might put down some epoxy and place a few stainless screws into the wood. If the seats are hollow. you might consider toggle bolts. Or as mentioned already, use rivets!

They are hollow with no wood. Rivets and epoxy is probably the way to go.

when they rivet kayaks they use huge rivets.. i forgot what what they were called.. i think aircraft or ship rivets.. not sure.. but they are way bigger then usual rivets.

rivets you can allways drill out.
