Well bay dog, cold nose, catch dog, trailer? There's different breeds for different needs. Shoot I've seen mini short leg beagles doin the whole job. Their names were number1, number2 and number3! Lol.
I'd use plott curr mixes or either or then ( not a straight pit) but pit MIX as a catch dog.
Over all my favorite dog of choice is a blue tick, then beagle.
