These aren't my pups, but a buddy of mine's. I'm just excited about them and thought I'd share. I got a female out of the litter myself.
He lives just north of Tampa, in Wesley Chapel.
The pups are 1/2 Plott hounds (I've never hunted with her, but I hear she runs quiet on track and is pretty gritty) and 1/2 Black Mouth Cur (saw him hunt, he hunts hard and is pretty gritty as well). Both adults will stop 125-150 pounders on their own, and will catch anything much smaller. There were 9 in the litter, 5 are accounted for. The pups will be ready to go at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb. He's getting $150 a piece and they come with their first shots.
He also has a litter of 9 cur puppies that'll be ready to go a few weeks after that.
Like I said, these ain't mine, I ain't making no money on them, but if anyone is interested, I can put you in contact with him. Shoot me a PM or email at Nick . Vonderheide @ gmail.com (take out the spaces) and I'll give you his phone number or something.
any pictures
I raised a litter of Registered Plotts last summer and I couldn't even give them away.I kept 3 of them and they seem promising, there momma is puting a dent in the hog population where I hunt.
Yeah, it seems like a lot of people want to shy away from the hounds cause they have the cold nose. A lot of people, myself included, have very limited land available to us so we can't be chasing dogs miles and miles....we'll end up standing tall before the law. The medium/hot nose and winding ability of the curs serve our purpose rather well. I'd LOVE to have an abundance of land available to me, and just listen to that sweet, sweet song all day/night long.
