It's the ultimate fish story. The crew of a chartered boat hauled in a 1,063-pound mako shark. The shark was more than half the size of the boat.
The crew was fishing in the Gulf of Mexico when they hooked the 12-foot-6 shark.
They had to harpoon the shark to bring it in and they also had to call a bigger boat to bring it to shore.
The shark is being investigated for a world record.

They are rare but we do get them now and then. We even see Great Whites sometimes.

Yes sir I was in the Indian Rocks shark tourney when they brought in a small white many years ago. Rare ... but here
