I would love to catch a nice grouper this year. What time of year is usually good for them in florida along the central east coast? Any good party boats in this area that you would recommend ?

Grouper move closer to shore in the winter. This help us out on the west coast. We can run 10 miles off-shore and only be in 50 to 60 foot range. You guys on the east coast can almost swim out from the beach and be that deep. As far as charters go I would stay away from the party boat. They will run out with 25 to 60 people and they fish areas that get to much presure. Same your money and head out on a 6 man charter. You will spend the $$ but you will have a better chance of some good size fish.

Hey mag I fish the indian river all the time and catch a lot of grouper & goliaths . Just fish around the deeper bridge pilings.
Usually I get a few 15 to 20 pounders a year. And I dont have to pay boat fees :rockon
