Took him to Gander Mountain and Dicks and concluded he could draw a weight of about 40-45lbs with a draw length of about 26" to 27".

At gander mtn. we looked at a new diamond model that would adjust from 29lbs to 60lbs with a draw length of about 24" to 29.5" for about 350$. It was pretty much ready to shoot.

Any opinions... would a used bow be better. Seems like he could use this bow for a while or even forever.

mission is the name of the bow. they have a few different models, some are adjustable from 16lbs to 50lbs and draw lengths adjustable too. your kid can grow with the bow, then hunt with it as well. then he can move up to the next step, they have one that goes up to 70lbs. these are nice bows and not nearly as expensive as matthews are. i believe they are like diamond is to bowtech. mission is to matthews. worth checking in to, nice stuff.
