I have a hoyt game getter 11 that hasn't been shot in a long time. Any suggestions on getting it tuned at a bow shop without them telling me that i need a new bow? I'm trying this before i invest in any kind of newer bow.I talked to Gander mt. and he said hundreds for cables and string just get a new one.

Where are you located?
A new string is not that much,20 or 30 bucks maybe.

Take it to a pro shop and they should be able to fix you up. Just because it is old does not mean you need a new one.
If it is "old school" with the tear drop on the cable you can change the string yourself with out a press.
