dibs on holding those puppies out of the way while she shoots.
If she's never shot before DONT start her at 45#.. 35# would be much better ... she won't struggle and she'll learn good form better than struggling with a bow she can't shoot. THE ABSOLUTLY MOST IMPORTANT THING IS GET A BOW THAT FITS HER. If the draw is to long or to short she will have problems and will develop bad habits .. do you know how to figure her draw length? Do you know how to match her arrows to her poundage? Be prepared to spend some bucks on getting her set up if you plan to do it right.
Browning makes some good starter bows.. Micro Adrenaline, Micro Midas, and if you get serious.. Elite made a few specificly for short draw archers/women.. Elite Ice, Fire and Cuda.. but, good luck finding one. My girlfriend shoot an Elite Fire and it is one of the best womens bows ever made.
Sorry to get off thread but damn IL2H, thats quite a spectacle, that made my whole morning. My wife tried pulling my bow back with my help and even after it got to the let off she was not comfortable holding it but she remains interested. I think she would like a crossbow though.
Minimum draw weight for bow hunting is 35# here in Florida.
