A buddy of mine brought his Crossbow over this morning to check the scope on it. He shot a good buck yesterday, which he did not find. What he described to me, sounded like a liver shot.

His CB scope was off. Was shooting low and right. The deer was facing left, and quartering away. He put the red dot behind the shoulder, and where the CB was shooting, would put the entrance in the liver, and catching the back of one lung, just like I told him on the phone when he was trailing it. Had I not been all gimped up with this ankle, I would have went and helped him. Matter of fact, I was supposed to go hunt with him today....
When the deer turned to run, the arrow was hanging out the opposite side, and pulled out on a bush about 10 yards down the trail.
Here is what the Rage looked like..
Check out how the blade is twisted around

He did not find the deer. He ended up trailing it for over a mile, and he is not in the best physical shape as it is. I'm not posting this to blame Rage for him losing the deer, he realizes it was a bad hit. However, the blade should not be in a pretzel either from a thin rib bone

The other thing is for you CB shooters, check your scope regularly. He has zeroed this thing in 2X already, and was off again. I got him back on driving tacks, and am interested to see if it gets out of zero again.

This is a Horton 175, btw......

That blade is missed up. Have other people had problems with the Rage blades that you know of?

Rages are one of those things that you either love or hate. I am one of the haters. I did kill a hog a few years ago and both blades were broken

at least the arrow penetrated both sides. and from the red blood maybe it did find a lung? too bad you don't have the luxury down here of leaving it for 4-6 hours or overnite before trailing. buzzards will be on it in 30 min sometimes, or other predators, or heat. tough break.
