I like this proposal and will be making comments, however, will like to hear opinions if you think this is good, bad and why.

"The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is considering allowing the use of crossbows during archery season. The proposed change would mean hunters could use crossbows if they wish, or they could continue to use vertical bows. These changes are being considered as a way to encourage greater participation in the archery season and may help increase overall participation in deer hunting, benefitting hunter recruitment and retention. Allowing the use of crossbows during archery season may also help younger and older hunters who may be unable to use vertical bows".
I sure hope it doesn't pass. If they would have just left the quota system alone they wouldn't need to do crap like this to try to get more revenue. The last thing we need is the woods even more crowded.
At this point, they may as well allow them. There are hundreds of people hunting illegally with them(no disability permit), or those who are not disabled and have had their doctor sign off on the application.
I used to be against them, now I could care less. I have shot many thousands of bolts thru mine, and honestly there is not much advantage over a vertical bow(ballistically speaking). The only advantage is you don't have to hold it at draw as you do with a bow. I don't think the deer population is going to suffer if they allow crossbows. Also, they are extremely cumbersome to hold while in the stand...
And where I disagree with Carlos, I hope it does introduce more people to the sport of archery. We need more hunters to keep our heritage going. I just hope that the kids of today don't get spoiled with technology and learn traditional methods as well..

Dude your allways complaining how the places you go to are full and too many people.. thats your main reason you dont like public land.. The only time that its non crowded on public land is ARCHERY SEASON. Im all for kids getting into hunting and getting more hunters into the Hunting Game that has nothing to do with my point tho. But everyone looks forward to archery season. If archery season gets crowded i will stop hunting public land.
