Had a GREAT opening morning. After that it was as slow as paint drying.
I've had this herd of 6 hogs on camera every day/all day for a couple months now. I felt so confident, I set the folding table up and got ice on Friday night. Sure enough, at 7 the first hog shows up. Unfortunately, it was a lot smaller in person than the camera depicted. Probably about a 40# mcrib

I had a perfect wind and knew the rest would be around shortly. I practiced several times on the mcrib. lining the crosshairs up on the xbow. Sure enough, 10 minutes later the rest of the herd rolls in. I had so many pics I had two in particular I wanted to shoot and would wait for one of the two to get in position.

The spotted sow was nowhere to be seen so I found the red boar. I got him broadside......and shot over his back. No idea how I did. They all scattered, and came back in a few seconds later. Meanwhile, i am trying to re-cock the xbow with the herd at 10 yards. I caught my breath, waited for him to get in position, took my time, got him slightly quartering away, and let a Magnus buzzcut rip. No doubt that one was a hit by the sound.
He ran about 30 yards and I saw him fall over, and start his death squeals. There was a massive boar that I had not seen till I shot that ran behind the hog I shot and was rooting him over for a couple minutes
They all finally left and have not been back since. I sat till 8, got down and loaded him up. estimated him around 85#.
About the time I got him on ice, my buddy backed up to the skinning pole with a big ole nanny goat he killed. Stryker xbow and a 2-blade rage. Deer never bled a drop on a double lung hit. He found the deer by accident, ran about 30 yards and was laying in the trail he walks in on
