For anybody interested, I emailed the Ohio DNR if the Bow mounted Range finder is legal here is the reply.
Recently questions have arisen regarding the legality of the Leopold Vendetta Rangefinder. This laser range finder attaches to a bow, and is capable of projecting a red beam of light on to a target. Therefore, use of this range finder, if attached to a bow, is illegal in Ohio. While this red beam is designed to be used during the “set-up” phase of the range finder, it can potentially be used at any time as a sighting device.
1501: 31-15-02 General hunting and trapping provisions
(L) It shall be unlawful to have any mechanical, electrical or electronic device attached to a longbow or crossbow while hunting, which is capable of projecting a beam or ray of light on a wild animal.

Anybody want to buy a never used Leupold Vendetta Range finder?
The Range finder actually puts a red dot on the target and/or shoots a laser line which can be seen?
