Hey Guys, I've never owned a crossbow but would like to try my hand at hunting with one. I have an antique 5hp outboard listed on Craigslist for $200 and a fella may want to trade a Man Kung 150# crossbow for it. The crossbow doesn't come with any bolts. Is this a good trade? My outboard runs great but it hasn't been restored cosmetically or anything so I don't think its worth more than $200 in its present condition.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mixed reviews online for that brand of x-bow. Not sure how much you can buy a used one for, but it looks like you can get one new on Amazon for about $140 with scope and bolts.

Your call. Personally, I would get a locally produced Barnett x-bow. Factory is in Tarpon Springs. You can buy an entry to mid level bow for $200-349 and have a warranty. Probably better resale if you decide you don't like it.

Yeah, that looks great. Problem is, I don't have $300 to spend on a good xbow. I don't want to give my outboard away either so I think I'll hang on to it. Maybe something else will come up on craigslist. Thanks for the info. I think brand new with all the extra's the MK runs about $150. This one is used and doesn't come with anything but a string...
