I disagree with that Frank. The difference is that the crossbow is already cocked, you have to draw a bow of any kind. You have to be closer with a bow and you have to move before you shoot. Nothing wrong with hunting with a crossbow during crossbow season. Like I said before,I'm not gonna waste my money now on a new mathews for next season because now I'll buy a nice cb. I'm a meat hunter by trade,I'll shoot 'em whatever is easiest. ANd I also think the woods are gonna fill up with douche bags now.

Well we will just have to disagree respectfully then, I just don't see the modern compound bow as anything close to archery, more like the difference between the flintlock and an M-16, to the traditional bow. You see the same argument on traditional bow sites saying that archery should not have the modern compound bow. I guess you really have a disdain for rifles and shotguns then...oh well each to their own. Really a wild boar, free and not trapped, no dogs and a pocket knife???Ok

I still disagree with your point Frank A crossbow is an ancient weapon as well as a bow. The only similarities is how their progectiles are fired. All weapons and firearms evolved into what they are today to help humans survive. A crossbow did not evolve from a long bow like a compound bow did. Todays modern crossbows have longer ranges than compound bows, you can use rifle scopes on them, and they have wheels and cams. My dad had shoulder surgery and got a permit to hunt with one. I'd say there's a definite advantage in hunting with a crossbow.I bet if FWC did one of their surveys asking if we could use black powder rifles during bow,or just make it completely a primitive weapons season, what do you think the majority of the people would say?

Have to agree with SA and DXT(I know 2x in one day). I hunt with both, so I am down the middle. A CB has an advantage. If you see a deer coming from 100 yards away, you lay it on your gun rest just like a rifle. A bow is completely different. I have always been all for them joining the seasons. Next year I will still be sitting in my stand with my PSE
