Heard about these online, and well, I had to buy a dozen, if nothing else but to say I tried em. Okay, so I'm at Gander Mountain shooting my BM MC, and figure, hey, they got a chrono, so why not check the claims. I figured that the nocks and claims were all hype, but I'm willing to give anything a shot once.
Bow: Bow Madness MC 29"/67#
Arrows: Carbon Express Terminator Lite 28-3/4" x 9.1 gpi = 261 grains
Tips: 100gr
Fletching: Bohning Blazers 8 grains
Wraps: 5" adhesive wraps 3 grains
Nocks: Accunocks 13 grains/ X-Nocks 7 grains
Total Arrow Weight w/Accunocks: 386 grains
Total Arrow Weight w/X-Nocks: 379 grains
Arrow Speed W/ X-Nocks: 298fps
Arrow Speed w/Accunocks: 298fps
I repeated chrono 3 times with each arrow, and each time was the exact same reading. What this told me is that while the Accunocks may increase speed very marginally, the added weight of the Accunock negated any performance improvement.
I also didn't have anything to measure bow sound except my ears, and there was no noticeable difference between the X-Nocks or Accunocks, despite the claims by the Accunock folks. So, I spent $16 on a dozen Accunocks so you don't have to. Next time I'll save my $ and spend it on 100 blazer vanes and wraps.
Take em or leave em, these are my results. Anybody else tried em?
I haven't bow hunted in a long time but those lighted nocks seem like a good idea.
I'll have to get some and conduct the same test. The Accunocks are not lighted. They are the ones that are a 2-part nock, internal and external. The internal part clips on your sting/serving just like a regular nock, but it's supposed to "open up" when the string applies pressure to the front of the inner nock so that the nock doesn't "pluck" the string on release and make noise and slow the arrow. If the whole nock weighed less, it would make sense, but it's a total wash on arrow speed gain and audible noise. Just a bunch of $ for "fancy" nocks IMHO.
