got a sabot from a remingting 50cal hollow point stuck in the barrel of my inline. it is about 5" from the breach. any ideas on how to get that sucker out??
Just wondering how you got it stuck in there, is there powder behind the sabot if so just cap it and blow it outta there.
they usualy keep a brass rod around at ranges for just this situation, the brass won't harm the inside of the bbl. when you say the sabot is stuck, I think you mean the sabot and bullet. if just the plastic sabot/jacket just unscrew the breach plug and push it out. if sabot and bullet I'd try pushing with the brass rod from the breach while pulling with the threaded screw from the muzzle.how did it get stuck in the first place?no powder, or powder didn't ignite? DO NOT try and blow it out of there with powder unless you can re-seat the bullet properly, thats how barrels blow up.
It had to be a misfire or he forgot to load the powder. You should be able to unscrew the breech plug and just push it out. Please ignore my first post,I was joking.
they also use compressed air to blow it out, a co2 cartridge I believe but don't know the specifics/have never done it
the actual round left the barrel and struck the target. I could not seat the next saboted round to the proper depth. The powder rounds would seat but the bullet would stop short of the proper depth. thanx for the help. I will try all your suggestions except the "pipe bomb". lol
