Well after missing a hog at 40 yards I decided I definitely need to get a scope. I bought a Bushnell Banner 3x9x40 Muzzleloader model with the MZ 200 reticle. Gonna sight it in this weekend. My .30-06 is sighted in at 100yds but I was thinking I should probably sight my muzzleloader in at 50yds. Is this what most people are doing?

Both mine are sighted dead on at 50, because thats all the type of terrain I hunt. Ive killed an animal every year for many years with a m/l and my longest shot ever was 70yds. But thats just me

If you are gonna be taking 100 yard shots, then I would want to know where it is hitting

I have a Leupold on my 50cal. knight disc ML. Sighted in at 100yds. It hits 1.5"high at 50yds.

I use a flintlock with iron sights....40 yrds ain't nothing. Work on your fundamentals before forking out the money for a scope. The 50 m target is the GIMME when soldiers qualify at the range, chicks do it all the time.
