So I'm taking my young cousin bp hunting this season. He's either going to shoot my t/c omega w/150 grains or I can break out my old wolf w/ 100 grains. My only problem is that all of our bp stands are used as rifle stands and he could need to take a 180 yd shot and I'm well aware that's too far for the wolf.

This kid is 11 yrs old and very excited about learning how to deer hunt and I don't want to knock the bejesus out of his shoulder with the t/c omega. I'm planning on shutting down the feeders on 2 stands and throwing the corn out at 30-50 yds for an easier shot with the wolf. Does this sound like a good idea to you guys? Oh and I will be with him in the stand so I can help him. I've got to get this boy a buck.

Keep it short n simple for the kids. IMHO, 180 yards and 150gr of 777 is way too much for an 11 year old

You don't have to put 150 grains in the t/c. LAst thing you want to do is spook him with a loud bang and a painful kick. And don't be so worried if he makes a kill or not,he think he'll be glad just spending time in the woods with a role model.

Agree 100 percent.....he's only 11` and just startin....probably be thrilled with a doe or just seeing a deer......let him work up to a buck.....he'll appreciate it that much more....IMHO
