I've been trying to pull one of the permits for St. Vincents for the last 3 years. No luck. This will be my last time to have my name in the hat since I'll be moving on to a new duty station next May. So, I've got one last roll of the dice.

The success rate is very low on those sambar hunts. I hear that they get into the thickest, wettest parts of the island

Yeah, the success is low, but I'd at least like to have the chance to try for them before I have to leave the state. I've taken over 25 elk, so at least I know how to take care of that big carcass if I did get one.

Gonna apply next year for the Sambar hunt. I did get the ML hunt on St. Vincents in Jan. though. 1st time there so if any one has some advice I'd be happy to hear it. Going with a buddy who's been to the island a few times. 😎
