Pick up a couple topsy turvy's while you are there
hoping to get some mowing and discing done on my lease next month. trying to get my foodplots cut in , but i don't plant until sept. to many natural browse.
Man I could use about a half ton.
In NW FL, we plant a mix from a local feed store. It has oats, winter wheat, clay peas, winter rye, rape, and turnips mixed in. The good thing with the turnips is that if you plant em early enough, by the time the winter frost hits em, they get pretty big, cus the deer don't touch em much till the frost sweetens em up, then they go to town on em. You'll need to clear out the pine needles and add a lot of lime and in the pines to sweeten the soil and make sure it gets plenty of sun.
Your deer actually ate the turnip? The hogs wouldn't even it that in our club.Greens and roots, that's it.
